WALKING IN FRANCE

Last October, I enjoyed my third walking trip, this one to the Dordogne area of southwestern France. The Dordogne River Valley has quaint, charming villages; magnificent vistas; and wonderful people. This was my second walk with The Wayfarers.

I pick great traveling companions, and my two friends, Kathy and Suzanne, were no exception.        With Kathy in the medieval town of Sarlat.

Breathtaking scenery along the Dordogne River        A great day for a hike

Lunch at a trout farm        Kathy photographs a storybook village

A trailside rest stop        Approaching La Roque Gageac by barge

Memorable view from my hotel room window        The end of the trail for my beloved hiking boots.
