NETHERLANDS WALKING TRIP

It’s been months since my April 2010 Country Walkers walking trip to the Netherlands, and I’ve waited so long to put up photos because I have so many gorgeous ones, I couldn’t make up my mind which to post. Honestly, The Netherlands wasn’t in my top ten list of dream walking destinations. I was so wrong! One of my best trips ever.

Standing under a
working windmill
(not this one)
was a thrill

A canal in lovely Ultrecht

Driving through the tulip fields

The Kuekenhof, the world’s
largest flower festival.
A once in a lifetime experience.

I took over 100 photos at the Kuekenhof,
each one more beautiful than the last

We reached the chilly North Sea
after a wonderful walk

My sister and faithful traveling
companion in Haarlem

Sheep grazing along a dike. Views like
this are why I keep taking these trips.

The famous Kinderdijk Windmills.
Despite the rain, one of my favorite
walks ever.

One of the Kinderdijk’s 19
historic windmills

A beautiful walk along a river

In the kitchen of one
of our guide’s homes.
Perfect!

I spotted this example of the modern
and ancient by the back door

Warming up with our guides during
the Queen’s Day festivities
