A September Walk in Ireland

In September, I took a long anticipated six day walking trip to Ireland with my beloved sister Lydia, known as Lil Sis on the SEP Message Board. We visited the Ring of Kerry in Western Ireland, where we walked through rain, more rain, muck, more muck...loving ever minute. Each time I go on one of these walking trips, I say it's the trip of a lifetime, and this was no different. In the photos below, you'll see just a hint of the fabulous scenery we encountered. The picture where Lydia has her arm around me was taken in the Rennadinna Yew Wood, a spot she has since declared one of her most favorite places in the world, but that I found spooky. You can also see one of Ireland's mystical stone circles, me digging in a peat bog, drinking Guinness (a first!), and a fellow traveler flying a kite on the beach where Ryan's Daughter was filmed. The beautiful bay window is located in the Carrig Country House, a most enchanting place. I had to pry Lil Sis's hands from the door when it was time to leave. We traveled with The Wayfarers. Here's a link to our itinerary if you're interested.
