"Touching moments, too. . ."
 
   OK, guys, I'm brand new here, so hope I'm doing this right. If not, don't hesitate to give me some pointers. I've actually been lurking for awhile trying to get the hang of the Board because it's so wide reaching. I only discovered SEP about a year ago and gobbled up everything as quickly as I could read it. I saw that somebody had started a thread for LOL moments. I love the humor in the books, but that is evened out by what, to me, are the gut-wrenching, touching moments that make me go, "AHHHH." I wonder if anybody would like to share their favorites? I'll start with mine. NBC is my absolute favorite book, and my favorite touching moment is when Riley tells Jack that her mother wouldn't buy her a guitar so she made one out of cardboard to practice with. Jack has to go sit in the bathroom till he can get control of himself. He's so ashamed that he's had so much and paid so little attention to Riley (who's also my favorite SEP kid, BTW). He comes out a few minutes later and gives her his guitar. I love the humor and I love the hot sexy scenes, but these little tidbits that SEP sprinkles throughout the books are what make me go back and read again and again. OK, so maybe I also go back and read the hot sexy scenes, too.LOL

   That is an amazing scene. It's right up there with when Molly tells Kevin that the baby's name was Sarah. And Phoebe telling Dan what happened to her in the pool house.

   Hi Winsome--

Welcome to the BB first of all. I hope you introduce yourself in the roll call that's going on in the main discussion.

You are so right about the touching moments. All of the SEP books have them and it's so hard to pick out a favorite.

IHTBY-is my favorite book and the scenes at the end with Dan and Phoebe are the best--the whole ending of the book is outstanding.

Every SEP book has those touching moments that stay with you.

I have 2 favorites...First would be IHTBY when Phoebe and Molly are talking and Phoebe gives Molly the picture of her mom. The second would be Sugar Beth telling Gigi everything she did to Winnie in school.

   Welcome to the BB Winsome1. SEP writes the perfect combination of LOL and gut-wrenching moments.

It's a toss up between THOM and KAA for my favorite SEP book. I cried in THOM when Molly was trying to not lose the baby and I laughed at the antics of both Kevin & Molly at the campground...being lost in the wood, forcing the cat up the tree so Kevin would rescue her, there's just so many great scenes in that book <sigh>...now I'm going to have to go re-read THOM again.

   I just read THOM too!!! It was adorable.

One of my favorites was in Just Imagine. When Kit comes to see Baron, she goes to leave, he picks her up and brings her back. Then he finds out about Risen Glory and the trust fund, and then Baron tells her that nothing happened between him and Ruby and Kit calls him her sweet darling...it's so cute!!!

Ain't She Sweet-When Colin sings to her in the bathtub...and Winnie in the end-what she does for Sugar Beth.

This Heart of Mine-When she talks all about the baby, her name being Sarah. When they're playing softball and Kevin chooses hannnah to be captain. When they're on the rowboat...

Breathing Room-Isabel and Ren in the garden...grape-squishing. When Ren finds...the little girls name i cant think of.

when jake tells her he needs her. and when he goes to the car to bring her the necklace and cries and tells her not to leave him because he loves her and hes alone! and she kisses his tears.

   i love all my sep books and there are a lot of touching moments but my favorite would have to be when Alexi found Daisy at the zoo after she left him and Daisy told him she doesnt love him anymore, then he said "It's okay, I love you enough for the both of us..." or something like that...

and then when Alexi kneeled in front of Sheba so that Daisy could keep Sinjun... and he said that it's all right, he's the only one who can demean himself...

there are a lot from the chicago stars series too...and the other books... hmmm let me organize my thoughts. i love entering forums filled with SEP fans... im new here if it isnt obvious

   I just finished KAA last week and these were some of my faves, too!! When she tells him she doesn't love him anymore and you know it's not true. I just pictured a little girl in that scene. Poor Daisy is fighting so hard!

Life's not a box of chocolates. It's more like a box of matches and sometimes the whole darn thing goes up in flames. At that point you've got two choices: you can either stand there and watch it burn or you can get your friends together and have one heck of a weenie roast!

OMG I think that that scene was one of my all time favs! But a close second would be in LBG when Kenny is looking though all of the things that Lady Emma bought at the drug store.

   Oh wow...there are so many for me. Let's see:

1. In IHTBY, when Phoebe tells Dan about her rape.

2. In "Ain't She Sweet" when Colin find out about Delilah and confronts Sugar Beth about her real motive for wanting to find the painting and sell it.

3. In THOM when Molly is in the hospital after her miscarriage and she fumbles for the phone to call Phoebe and Dan to come get her.

4. In NBC when Jack finds out Riley made a cardboard guitar because her evil witch of a mother wouldn't buy her a guitar of her own.

5. In THOM when Molly is depressed after her miscarriage and she avoids Phoebe and Dan because they're being sweet to her and it just makes her feel worse.

   In every book there is a touching moment or more of them but the best for me ...

Kiss an Angel - when Alex gives up his pride for love

Ain't She Sweet -Colin singing to Sugar Beth, a love story for Sugar Beth

What I did for love - making amends for the past - the beautiful honey moon and making love on the boat

But the one I cried my heart out,as if somebody I knew died was when Dash in Honey Moon died - I can't believe how much it got to me,as if Honeys pain was touchable ...

   I'm with you, my favorite is in KAA when Alex begs Sheba for the tiger just so Daisy would know he loved her...oh yeah and when Daisy leaves after telling Alex she's preganant and he's so upset and goes out and buys all the baby toys and brings them to her and finds her gone, that was another.

   Definitely, my TOUCHING MOMENTS BOOK it's DREAM A LITTLE DREAM...I JUST CRY WITH THE WHOLE BOOK ONCE AND OVER AND OVER AGAIN!

The way Rachel left her dignity for her child, how she tries to make his life better no matter what...it's really touching... and Gabe...when he tells Rachel that the weapon he has it's not for security, and the reason he's alive it's just because of his family...
Or the story about Gabe's parents; how his father humiliated his mother when they were young, and how she was waiting for him to introduce her as his wife...or at least his love...Gosh, I'M SOOO GONNA READ DALD AGAIN!
