"itunes?"

Does anyone know when the audio download will be available on ITunes? I've never used audible.com, isn't that just a rental? So, like, do the files only play for so long before they expire? Cuz I only want it if I can keep it forever!

I have used audible in the past and once I put the books on itunes they have stayed there (so far)... I am not very computer literate and my understanding of audible.com is that once you purchase the book you own it.

But then I also back up my audio books on a thumbdrive in case something happens to my computer...

A positive attitude may not solve all of your problems but it will annoy enough people to make it worth the effort.

If something happens to your computer, your audiobooks are also in your library at audible.com and can be accessed there. I've purchased audiobooks from iTunes in the past, also.

There's a gigantic price difference between audible and itunes. I figured there had to be a catch! Sounds like there isn't...

You just have to pay the monthly fee. If you are an avid book dowloader like I am, its actually cheaper in the long run. I buy up to five audiobooks a month bc I work out to them. I also listen to one when I clean bc I abhore cleaning. And I consider the perfect day to be one where I scrapbook AND listen to a great audiobook at the same time. I've always been a voracious reader, but I find that I can get so much more done if I download them from Audible and multitask while I listen to them. It's gotten to the point that I feel like something's wrong if I don't have a book to listen to on my iPod.

I have a plan at audible that gives me one credit per month for my fee which is enough to buy one book. I do like the fact that the books you buy are also stored in your library on the site so if something happens to your hard-drive, you can redownload it again at no charge.

I've also noticed that Audible.com has a better selection of UNABRIDGED books. Many times, iTunes is cheaper because they are selling the cheaper, ABRIDGED versions.

That's what I have to and I get so excited when I see that one credit at the top of the page. It's like Christmas morning all over again. And then I get to go and search through the books I haven't listened to yet to pick out the PERFECT one.

First, I downloaded WIDFL from audible.

Audible has a licensing deal with itunes. If you sign up with a plan at audible you also get a discount on any book that you purchase outside of the plan. Audible will get the best sellers the first day they come out, it takes itunes a few weeks to get it in their selectioms. Audible has the software for the PC to download directly to itunes. It makes it seamless. If you use a Mac the process is completely seamless, you don't even need to download the software.

I am a complete computer moron, but I know how to get my audiobooks.

Overall, buying through audible is a better deal.

I actually sprung for the 2 a month all in advance. I get 24 credits to use immediately. No waiting. I am an absolute audio junkie. I can't help myself.
