"What Are You Reading 1/30 - 2/5"

If it's Sunday, it's time to start the new WAYR thread

Right now I'm reading the historical, The Lady Most Likely, which is jointly written by Julia Quinn, Connie Brockway, and Eloisa James. It's kind of an anthology, kinda not. The story takes place at a house party and each author writes the story of three h/h who are attending the party. Very good so far!

Don't know what to start next...maybe the first book in the Anne Gracie series...I read & enjoyed The Accidental Wedding before realizing it's the fourth book in the series..oops! This will keep me entertained until Jill Shalvis' newest book, Animal Magetism and Jaci Burton's The Perfect Play are released on Feb 1.

What are all of you reading this week!?!

I'm still reading the second book of the Bow Street Runner's series. If the next one is Nick's, I might have to read it next. Or I might need to take a little break. Hmmmm. Decisions. I'm so glad that I gave Lisa Kleypas another chance and that my reading tastes have chanced. She has a huge backlist to read. Yay!

Still listening to True Colors by Doris Mortman. This is a romance written back in 1994 and centers on two women raised as sisters who become enemies as adults. They were never really true sisters but were adopted by the same couple. But because of their different backgrounds and the jealousy of one, they do not stay friends past their teenage years. Very good story with romance and some suspense and mystery.

Dawn, I finished Wild Man Creek on Saturday...loved it! RC's Virgin River books are an auto-buy for me.

I also have Marrying Daisy Bellamy on my Kindle. While I have been waiting a long time for Daisy's story, I've kinda been dreading it, too...I looove Julian, but Logan has worked hard to become a man worthy of Daisy's love. And he's the baby daddy! No matter which guy Daisy chooses, one good guy is going to be SOL!

I'd love to hear what you and other seppies who read this think of the resolution to this love triangle.

I'm about two thirds into the book and cannot put it down. The writing is just phenomenal, the characters are so developed, and the plot is so moving. My heart breaks as I read it, but in a good way.

One of the reasons why I am loving FFTS is because LK managed to give a voice to so many people who have lost theirs. When my grandmother had her stroke, she lost so much of herself, and in truth I feared that we were lost to her too. Now, I find great comfort in knowing that my grandmother isn't lost, she's just not able to speak or voice herself as she once used to. I wish I could make the rest of my family read this book, it deals with so many issues at once, but at the heart of it, it is a romance with a happy ending, which is why this book is truly beautiful

I'm still basking in the afterglow of a CMI reread; love it soooo much! I am now reading the next J.D. Robb book in the Death series; Glory in Death. I also need to start A Woman of Substance by Barbara Taylor Bradford for book club; if I recall it is a big book, LOL. I read it many years ago and it still leaves an impression on me so I am looking forward to rereading it.

Worth any Price by Lisa Kleypas is the third book in her Bow Street Runners series. I love Nick. So glad that he got his own story. And Lottie seems like a good match for him.

I'm tempte to do rereads of SEP's books for the Quote game in the main forum. I wish the bulletin board were busier. I miss all the people who have left for Facebook.

   Hey dawn,

What do you think of Nick? Love, love, love him!! I saw the game being played on the main discussion page, but I'm looking to do a re-read of SEP's books before I get to CMI (yeah, I know I'm torturing myself here!), but I'm afraid all the quotes will get me all hyped up and then where will we be?

I love, love Nick, too! Ah c'mon and play the game. Being hyped up is a good thing. I'm glad that Tracey started it up. It's fun. And more people play it on the Main Board. I'm thinking of taking a break from Lisa Kleypas. But I'm definitely coming back. I have three SEP books that I haven't come up with quotes for, so I thought I'd work on that for a while.

My Kindle is acting up, but it's under warranty so there sending me a new or refurbished one. I should have it on Friday. It's run perfectly for several months and then suddenly if started freezing up. Frustrating. But kudos for Amazon's customer service.

Amal- have you not read CMI yet? I haven't either. I'm torturing myself too. Right now I'm reading Robyn Carr and it's sitting on my nightstand taunting me. At first, I was just really busy at work and hadn't read anything for a couple of weeks. And now I'm disappointed that I didn't get the rereads in I wanted. So after I finish Wild Man Creek, I'm going to finish Fancy Pants, quickly look at First Lady, and finally start CMI. - I think.

JC's best books are IMHO, "Welcome to Temptation", "Fast Women", and "Bet Me". Her older books are good, cute reads. But her writing gets better and better with each book. My best advice is not to judge JC on her older books.

I'm still suffering from the after shocks of "Flowers From the Storm" - brilliant, brilliant book, IMHO. The writing was stellar, so much depth and emotion, and the journey both characters make leave my heart heavy and full. Loved it. I can totally see why it's considered THE romance novel of all time.

But after such a heavy read, I needed something light and fun. I tried starting Julie James's "The Sexiest Man Alive", but the fact that the heroine is a workaholic 30 something lawyer really started upping my anxiety level from all the stress from work, so I had to put it down. I only got as far as page 2 before my pulse started racing, lol.

Instead, I picked up a favourite "Too Perfect" by Julie Ortolon. Love, love this book. It's book 3 in JO's Perfect trilogy, but while the first two books were ok, this book totally did it for me. The heroine totally reminds me of me, and the fact that her name is Amy, short for Amelia - and Amy being the nickname I use when meeting strangers (like taxi cab drivers or at restaurants, etc) - this book is a little foray into my own fantasies, lol.

Ok, I better get back to work. I have another hour and a half before I can leave, sigh.

Hillary,I definitely recommend you seek out Just Imagine.

It was wonderful!!! Love Baron, the hero, and the heroine Kit---just as fabulous as you'd expect SEP h/h to be!!! While the vast majority of books I read are contemporaries, I do read a few historicals, and this one definitely was on par with some of my favorites.

Thanks again to my book pimps, Sarah and Amal, for this great recommendations

I just started the new SW too..not too far into it as I've been busy too...getting ready to go on a cruise on Sunday and getting my guest room cleaned out as my sister is coming from CT to go on the cruise and then stay with us for 11 days after!

But my Kindle is going on its 3rd cruise so I hope I'll have plenty of time to read.

Lynda hope you have a great cruise. My Daisy story has been sitting by my bed untouched. Must get into it this weekend. First school week back and getting used to new students etc has left reading out in the cold!

I just finished her new book and really enjoyed it. This is the second book of hers I've read. I loved the cover too.

I have this on my list. I haven't read a bunch of her last books, but this cover is ADORABLE. I'll be breaking down eventually to read it. I may need the paper book to see that cutie... oh, and the puppy.

I read this on Leslie's recommendation and really loved it. I needed something to keep me company while I prepped for a screening colonoscopy; a very demanding task. This book was great. It's historical with very clever writing and wonderful dialogue. It's my favorite of her books to date.

Thanks Leslie.
