Anyone read Laurie Viera Rigler: Confessions of a Jane Austen Addict? Sounded like it had possibilities.

I finished JA's Lady Isabella's Scandalous Marriage this morning. I was wondering how come its average rating was 4 stars on Amazon as it started out great. I really enjoyed it but the 4 star rating is good as nothing out of this world happens in it but it is still a great romance. Mac is just sigh-worthy. It would be fantastic to have a husband who loves painting you with such a passion. I love it that my husband enjoys taking photos of me so a husband painting a wife takes it to another higher level i imagine. Looking forward to Cameron's book. Although a year away is a long time.

Haven't decided which book to start next but probably Hot Finish will be up next. Love EMc's books but wanted to be in the right mood to enjoy this one to the full.

I liked JA's LISM but I didn't love it. I just felt thrown into the story and conflict with little knowledge, background or tension. Well written but unsatisfying after Madness of Lord Ian.
I'll still read the series as the brothers are very intriguing.

Currently listening to Julie Garwood's Killjoy. The reader (Joyce Bean) is excellent and a joy to listen to - I am flying through the discs.

I was reading on a review that what was lacking too where the three years after Isabella left Mac and his efforts to sober up. We get none of that in the flashbacks. I like the way the backstory was given in flashbacks becasue i don't like stories in parts, but I agreed with this reviewer that certain parts of their previous marriage could have been revisited.

I'm still reading Vengence Due by Lauren Dane. It's the third book in the Witches Knot series. I'm really enjoying it. I so like this author and am so happy I discovered her through recommendations from this board. It's paranormal erotica--a combination I really enjoy.

I'm currently listening to Hot Blooded by Lisa Jackson and will follow that with Cold Blooded. These are the first two books in her New Orleans series. These books are very suspenseful and have very creepy serial killer villains, but they also have some hot love scenes. I have already listened to the next three books in this series so already know a little bit about books 1 and 2 since the two continuing characters often refer back to things that happened earlier. But NLS didn't get around to recording these first two books until recently.

I finished Eat Pray Love. Meh. I didn't dislike it, but I definitely didn't love it. I felt the same way about the movie.

I also finished When Blood Calls by J.K. Beck. I'll have a separate post about that.

I'm reading Sister of the Bride by Susan Mallery which is part of the Fool's Gold series. I've only read the first two lines though.

I have just finnished a reread of Aint she Sweet. I swear, it gets better every time I read it! The development of the caracters, the dialogue, the humor, how SEP writes about difficult subjects without it being banal (am I making sense here, I have a feeling this may be "swenglish"...). Well I love the book! And it made me feel like reading Georgette Heyer. "These old shades" is next.

14. "Fiona Walker "Snap Happy""
In response to message #0

I’m still reading Fiona Walker’s “Snap Happy” and cannot put this book down! Even though I’ve peeked a million times at the end, read all the bits and pieces that I’m curious about, I’m still caught by surprise at how she can twist and turn the plot around. Honestly, those who like Kristin Higgins, Helen Fielding’s “Bridget Jones”, or Sophia Kinsella’s “Can You Keep a Secret?” will love Fiona Walker. She’s a lot more edgier, but it makes her characters that much more real. I’m so glad I finally decided to give this book a chance after 15 years. I’m going to my new library system later this week to pick up her back list! Totally loving it!!

(hint: highly recommend her to those who are looking for new contemp romance. Note, though in third person, we don’t get the hero’s POV, but it adds to the drama of all the heroine’s emotions. Also it’s very British by nature. All the humour and references, there’s no room for any kind of Americanization in this book, unlike Bridget Jones, Harry Potter, or even Bend It Like Beckham that all had to be re-written (or re-dubbed) for American audiences, but IMHO, it makes the story that much more authentic, especially since Snap Happy is about an American Photographer and an English Woman. Synopsis reads as: Juno is voluptuous, hedonistic, funny and terminally untidy. The last thing she needs is an uptight, teetotal flatmate. But that's what she gets when her brother sends his American photographer pal to use his London apartment. However, this recipe for disaster turns into an unlikely romance.)

Am listening to a very good mystery "The Scent of Rain and Lightning" by Nancy Pickard. I can't stand to arrive at my destination because I'm so into the story. Made me cry a few times which looks a little strange when I'm alone in the car.

For Jane Austen fans, "The Other Mr. Darcy". It's the story of Caroline Bingley and a different Mr. Darcy. Even if you're not an Austen fan, it's a very entertaining book. If you are a fan, it's irresistible.

For those who like the cowboy stories, Linda Lael Miller's latest in her McKettrick series, "Austin." It ties up the series in a predictable way.

In response to message #0

Crazily reading three books. Don't usually do that. Paperback of Just Breathe, took me a minute or two to get into that but loving it now.

Have read Eclipse Bay and about to listen to Dawn in EB on my ipod. And have Infamous by Suze Brockmann on my ereader Kobo. All serve different times of getting to read. My ereader comes in handy when I took my class to gym and we play in the park while we wait for the other class to finish and we bus back to school. So while the kids play I read!!
I actually bought a Kindle too, just because I could, and purchased a book to try it out. But there is only so much one can read at any one time!!!

same here.

but I have two more books on my nightstand I haven't touched, Isabel Allende: "Paula" (Isabel's daughter falls in coma and they know if she'll ever awake, so Isobel tells her the story about the history of their family so that when Paula awakes she know who she is and where she came from)
and Indu Sundaresan: "The Twentieth Wife" ( The year is 1577. As a winter storm rages in the remote outpost of Qandahar, a baby girl named Mehrunnisa is born in a nomad tent. Her parents, penniless and in exile from their home in Persia, decide to give up the child. They already have three children, and are on their way to the Mughal court in India. Thirty-four years later, this child of the storm comes to Emperor Jahangir's harem as his twentieth wife, and becomes Empress Nur Jahan.Brought up around the Mughal court, Mehrunnisa sees Jahangir at his first wedding. She decides with the precocity of an eight-year-old, that one day, she will be his wife.In the years before this becomes an actuality, Mehrunnisa will be married to another man despite her inclinations. She sees her husband slaughtered by the imperial army—court gossips will have it on Jahangir's orders. There are powerful courtiers determined not to let the marriage take place. One of Jahangir's wives, Mehrunnisa's biggest rival in the imperial harem, tries to turn the Emperor against her.Through all these years, Mehrunnisa and Jahangir's love for each other endures until 1611, when she comes into his harem as his twentieth—and last—wife. At this time he gives her the title of Nur Jahan, by which she is known to posterity.)
they both sound very very interesting.

This is the fifth book in the Witches Knot Series. One more book to go and then I'll be sad to see the series end. I've really gotten caught up in it and love the characters. Luckily, Dane has another paranormal erotica series, so I won't be left hanging. The thing is that I have all these library books to read, but I prefer much more to read on my Kindle.

This is the sixth and last book of the Witches Knot series. I'm so sad to see this series end, because I've absolutely loved reading it. I'll catch up on my library book reading and then at some point I can return to her other paranormal erotica series: The Cascadia Wolves. I'm really looking forward to it.

Well, I'm catching up on my library books! I feel like I'm cheating on my Kindle, and all I want to do is read Lauren Dane books. But I'm going to spread the series out and savor them. I'm enjoying this book. So far, it's a fun read. I like this series.

I finished Christina Dodd's In My Wildest Dreams, book 4 in her governess series - and to my shame, I have not read books 1 to 3 yet

It was a quick read, intense, hot, and typical CD writing.

Since I'm visitng my parents this weekend, with nothing to do, I brought along Bella Andre's Wild Fire and Lora Leigh's The Man Within. I'm trying to read all the smutty stuff while locked up at home, so I don't have to worry about trying to read it on public transit.

I've always enjoyed CD's books but have not read one in a while.

You need to get a 'cover' for your paperback books to read while in public!! Or an e-reader, Kindle, Sony or Nook! But I find every time I take my Kindle out to read in public, some one comes by and wants a 'demo' of it!

Yesterday (we are at DH's Submarine Vet Convention) I was sitting in an area of the hotel waiting for him to get out of a meeting nd figured I had about 30 minutes to read...nope, didn't happen. First one lady saw the Kindle, the another and another! After about 10 minutes I said I had to go to my room.....to read!
