"Progress on " the box of books""
| |
I have mentioned before that my cousin dropped off a huge box of books for me. She Doesn't like Regency or Historials. The funny thing? I didn't think I liked them either!. Judith McNaught is what got me started. The box contained about 25-30 books. All series. JULIA QUINN, VICTORIA ALEXANDER & LYNN KURLAND I finished all of JQ and I am now on my 3rd VA. I am really enjoying both authors! I am super excited that the box contained all of the books in the VA Effington series. It seems to me each book is better then the last. I am not sure about LK though the books seems to be mystical/magical and all that not really my thing. but never say never I guess????? Hope everyone is having a great reading week!!
HAPPY READING! DAWN |

yeah, I think I read a certain Author until It feels like it is the same story and I need a change. I am enjoying this phase. And what makes it even better? ALL THESE BOOKS WERE FREE and I would never have even picked them up other wise! LUV IT!! DAWN

Dawn, So glad you liked Julia Quinn and that you are trying out the historical romance world. I second the recommendations to try Lisa Kleypas and Eloisa James. Kleypas has an historical backlist that is wonderful. Her "Wallflower Series" is for the most part excellent, imho and some of her most popular books are from that series. Her newer "Hathaway Series" is also enjoyable. I am currently reading the newest book in that series and it deserves every bit of the buzz it has received...truly one of her best. Kleypas also writes contemporaries which I have enjoyed too. I haven't read all of James' books but in her "Duchess" series my favorites are, "This Duchess of Mine" and "The Duke Returns." Enjoy! Laura Z. a seppie who used to hang out here a lot got me hooked on Lisa Kleypas. One of the best things she ever did for me Now, if you're like me and you NEED to read in order, then I'm going to recommend that you read in the order prescribed. Start with:1) Again the Magic 2) Secrets of a Summer Night - Wallflower Series begins 3) It Happened One Autumn 4) Devil In Winter 5) Scandal in Spring 6) Mine til Midnight - Hathaway Series begins (spin-off of Wallflower series) 7) A Wallflower Christmas 8) Seduce Me at Sunrise 9) Tempt Me at Twillight 10) Married By Morning 11) Love in the Afternoon - not yet released Now, once you have those read, you can go back and read the Bow Runner trilogy. A certain favourite hero makes his original apperance in this series. Warning, IMHO, the first two are not the best, but they do a great job at leading up to the third book which was stellar: 1) Someone to Watch Over Me 2) Lady Sophia's Lover 3) Worth Any Price Happy Reading! |
