I finished this today. Very good read and it definitely makes me think about certain issues.

I finally got this and read it. A very good read. It's her first novel and she's definitely a writer to watch for.

It's not a romance but it really evokes the location and the ambiguous feelings of a young woman lawyer who is feeling out of her place. I really felt the humidity of a summer in Macon, Georgia- not that I would ever go to Macon in the summer, but she made me want to go for the cherry festival.

Leslie, what did you think of her handling of the main character's conflict between her ideals and her profession? I thought she wrote that very believably.

I thought all of her character development was well drawn and I liked that it was gradual and we lived thru it with her. I liked the relationship with her father and the way that it evolved over the course of the book, too.
