We kept our 3-year-old in a crib as long as possible. The pediatrician said it was fine if she wasn't climbing out and she wasn't. We didn't want to spend the money on a toddler bed so we stretched the crib as long as possible. So, the kid has a big girl bed. It's from Ikea and bigger than a toddler bed and smaller than a twin bed. She wanted a blue one so she got it though I would have preferred it natural to match her other bedroom furniture. She slept very well last night and didn't get out of bed until this morning. Hopefully, she continues to be a big girl bed rock star. We also made the transition from the pacifier, too. We wanted to do it earlier, but we didn't. She had a rough year, and we didn't want too many changes in a row so it was natural that new bed and new changes came about. It does seem like she's a big girl overnight though.

Congrats April! She's growing up so fast - all these huge milestones. I'm glad that she loves her new bed, I'm sure it really helps that she was part of the decision process for this big step

That really is a big step. My little granddaughter started sleeping in her big girl bed shortly after she turned three this year. Your daughter will love her blue bed! lol

We meant to do it closer to when she turned 3 (around Halloween), but the holidays are rough! So, this was the first time we had available. We spent the last month preparing her. She seems to be adapting well though she is still missing her crib.

Congratulations on the big girl. That is a tough transition and I remember NONE of the baby books gave any guidance on how to do it. Little Miss seems to be doing very well.
