   I am hopeless - posted an empty message - d'oh!

Someone posted some lovely pics of their garden a while back and I was so impressed. I thought I'd share my rescuing and TLC of a neglected camellia in my side drive...

5th June 2010 - tiny buds and hope.

27th June - the buds are about to burst.

25 July - blossoming

14 August - still blooming beautiful

the tree next to the camellia is full of little yellow flowers

   Beautiful!
I love camelias, but since our garden is a bit shadowy (is that a word?) we haven't even tried to grow them. It is possible to grow camelias here in Stockholm, as I have seen in a friends garden, but you need a very sunny and protected spot.

   I just adopted a Camellia at the garden store. It was like seeing a puppy or kitten that I couldn't leave behind. It will be planted between my deck and my neighbor's tomorrow. The cultivar is Yuletide, and it supposedly blooms at Christmas with red single blossoms on dark green foliage.

   Beautiful. I never knew what those flowers were called. Now I want one of those for my garden but will have to check with the garden center if I can grow them here.

I have the opposite of a green thumb and I managed it.

And you know what's nice - when I am having a crappy moment at work, I look in here and feel like home is nearby. Love the BB.
