People said they liked it. We made a ton of food and it all went so they came hungry (though I passed the word along that there will be a lot of food).Menu:
arugula salad w/toasted almonds and shaved parmesan with a balsamic vinegarette
pasta caprese salad (pasta, tomatoes, mozzarella and a lemon pesto-type dressing)
garlic/cheese crostini w/prosciutto
ham, turkey and cream cheese/olive tea sandwiches
mac and potato salad
black bean/corn/tomato/avocado salsa
chips
We played a Guess the Beatles song as our game. Then, the mom-to-be received many nice things. I gave her a Beatles bag filled with diaper bag ingredients including a pacifier with the baby's name on it, hand sanitizer, Desitin, diapers, wipes, bib, rattle, first aid kit, plastic bags in which to dispose of diapers and a travel changing kit. I made a Beatles diaper cake and gave little yellow submarine soaps as the favors.
The theme was sort of the Beatles, but there weren't enough things available so I made it "Underwater" with the yellow submarine items and One Fish Two Fish Red Fish Blue Fish. Little Miss and I wore blue for the new baby boy, but the apartment was decorated with primary colors and green. So, fun time but it was a long day. We were great at setting up and my MIL came over late that night to do all the dishes which was very helpful.
