Ain't is my favorite too. Always has been. But I love all SEP's books, including KAA. I just recently did a reread of it. That was back when I was having such horrid concentration problems, and KAA along with FL helped me to get back on track. I love Daisy. She's so sweet and strong. I love her with the animals, especially Tater. I love her with Alex. Love the book. Dawn "Outside of a dog, a book is man's best friend. Inside a dog, it's too dark to read." --Groucho Marx |

I am shocked at how much I LOVED KAA. I read it maybe 3 weeks ago and I have had a hard time jumping back into another book. I was sooo in that place that zone. I never thought of the circus as romantic but SEP made it happen. Daisy was just soo lovable and sweet. I love the animal stories. What a cute image a baby elephant following her and Alex around. One of my favorite scenes When Alex says We can get you a dog if you want a pet and she says OH NO! I'm afraid of dogs! After she has been laying in a TIGERS CAGE
BRILLIANT WE LOVE YOU SEP! Dawn M |

but now KAA : my all time fav I do not know why but it is the REAL RAW EMOTION OF IT THAT GETS ME EVERY TIME THere is something about the way He is once Daisy comes back and she is broken and wont talk THAT GETS ME IN THE GUT everytime. at the end he had sex with her and she didn't even respond or move and he felt he raped her.... OMG WOW amazing writing You don't get that kind of honesty with many Authors SEP is not afraid to bet raw and real. Her Books are not all sugary sweet. |

To me, I felt that he truly loved her. And no, in my opinion, he doesn't deserve a more humiliating scene than he already has by going down on his knees to Sheba. I don't think Daisy would like it too. I think by going down privately is already a HUGE humiliation toward Alex, because he was SOO PRIDEFUL; since his pride was everything to him. But yes, a longer story would've been lovely. And to Dawn, although it's been a long while I'm not sure if you received my email from that one time because I never received a reply... but I'll post my answers here. Hello Dawn. This is Yer. Sorry for such a late reply! (I've been busy with school.)
LOL, I can understand the frustration you go through when you finish a really good book, and is in need of discussing it with someone. None of my friends read...they just naturally don't like reading, so I'm by myself. Sighhh.... Very well, these are my answers to your questions: What was your favorite part about KISS AN ANGEL? My favorite part about KAA is the fact that Daisy and Alex matured and learned together—the lessons they lacked in their life—through their arranged marriage. Daisy was able to show Alex how to love (considering Alex's rough background, I understand why Alex felt that he was incapable of loving, because, I, too feel that in order to love someone you must be nurture with love as a child); and Alex was able to teach Daisy to grow up and be responsible, and look after herself. Moreover, seeing Alex change from a hard, prideful, and stubborn man to a tender, sweet and loving man was a wonderful transformation. What made it your favorite book? Because of KAA’s lighthearted tone, it's easy for me to read it continuously. When I'm stressed or frustrated about school or those little things in life, I can rely on KAA to take me into this totally unusual place that will make my heart ache and a tear may drop…all the while entertain me as well. In addition, Daisy is one of SEP’s heroines that motivates me to strive to do better in life (and to live life to the fullest) although it can be troublesome and grueling. Because in the story Daisy was naive and inexperienced in many aspects but the thing about her is: she never gives up. She is persistent! She’s also so optimistic about life and everything beyond her…totally the opposite of me, and she’s just…inspiring. Even when Alex declared that she get an abortion, she defies him with her escape which signifies her as a strong, independent woman who can take care of herself and her (unwanted) baby. This made KAA my favorite book. How did you feel about ALEX in the beginning and the end of the book??? When I first read KAA I thought Alex was funny (in the beginning, of course! especially with his magic fires...). Then in the middle, I thought he was a real jerk (but I still had a soft-spot for him). Finally, at the end, I completely softened toward him particularly when he told her he loved her so much that he hurts, and if she really wants him to let her go he will do it for her happiness (it was such a heartrending scene! ). Gawsh, I really think Daisy is like an angel sent down from heaven to cure Alex from his rough childhood and taught him love, made his life more optimistic. I love this book; it has romance, comedy, heartstrings, the circus!, and the animals. It’s such a cute, delightful book. I adore it, too.

Okay, just now, I reread the first question and thought maybe you might meant my favorite scene in the book? Well...honestly, there are quite a lot...but I'll probably have to go with the scene when they just arrived at the circus and Alex sarcastically asked Daisy if she wanted to be carry over the threshold, which Daisy took it seriously and Alex did carry her over the threshold. I thought that was extremely cute! and giggled every time I read that part. LOL "One step backward does not mean you are defeated. It just means that you need to take a step forward again. My other fav is Match Me If You Can They are mentioned in other books too, but my poor KAA is floating all alone out there. I guess I can't complain there are a few others that are just floating I guess. Kim "We can do no great things...only small things with great love." |
