Good question and very hard to choose. Now I'll have to re-read all of the books only for the 2ndary romances(LOL). All that have been mentioned so far were excellent. I think the 2 that stick out the most right now is Torie and Dex and Portia's story from MMIYC. Hali Queens(1 of the 5 Borough's of New York City) |

Ethan and Kristy are from DALD. Me, I don't think they ever resolved the problem of Ethan taking Kristy for granted, so they can't take first place on my list. That said, they do have one of the funniest quotes in all of SEP: He gazed up into the beautiful, intent eyes of his virgin bride. "Let me know if I'm scaring you." "Shut up and take off your pants." My vote is for Jim and Lynn Bonner. Somebody wrote that true romance is about pain, and they had so much pain between them. The "Cookie Girl" scene is so painful and so humiliating for Lynn. At the same time, I can see Jim as a slightly insecure young man just sort of freezing up. I could believe that he could love her, but still be a little embarrassed by her. It's Lynn's response to her life that's so powerful. She decides that she's never going to be a source of embarrassment to him again, and she succeeds in doing so only too well. Jim's punishment is that he destroys what he loves most about her. |

Torie and Dex come to mind first. I'm such a push-over for the strong nerdy type! I'm hoping they will make an appearance in "Call Me Irresistable", since Dex and Ted were friends. Bodie and Portia are my second faves. Yes, Rox who can forget the Peeps! Pam Near Cleveland |

I'm sure I'm in the minority here, but I don't like the technique of incorporating secondary romances. They take away from the main couple IMO, and usually I just don't have anything much invested in the secondary characters. Ryan and Winnie, especially, annoyed the crap out of me. "Ain't" is my favorite non-Stars book, but I now have to skip over all the Winnie and Ryan stuff because I want to slap her most of the time. I'm also not crazy about using a character's parents as the secondary romances (i.e. "Nobody's Baby But Mine" and "Natural Born Charmer"). Creeps me out for some reason. Again, I know I'm in the minority but I just wanted to offer a different opinion. danfan |

I like Jack and April, April's story was pretty sad and then it just turned out wonderful. I think I need to go back and read some of my SEP books again, I didn't remember half of these people, but I've been off on other authors recently and need to review all of my books with Ted in them before the new book comes out!
