"Our Travels, so far"

Thought I'd check in while I had some time this morning...and could get on the internet. We left FL on Wed (the 25th) and drove to my home town in CT and arrived mid-day on Friday. Tim did good on the trip and did alot more of the driving then I thought he should. We've had a busy time with family since arriving. Yesterday (the 29th) was our 40th Anniversary and we attended church where we were married then my brother & sil had a get-together at their house and several of our other relatives stopped by. I had found the 'topper' that was on our wedding cake, had it 'cleaned' up and ordered a sheet cake to put it on. the place that did it added a 8" round cake on top of it to put it on. They did the flowers in the colors that our wedding was. It was really nice...I also found the box of napkins from our wedding that were printed with our names and the date...and they weren't even 'dust' when I opened the box! And for some reason I had had my sisters bridesmaid dress (which my mother had made all of them)in my closet all these years....she was 16 years old when she wore it, so I brought it for her. She just cracked up! We are staying here today so Tim can rest (and we can go back to my brother's for more cake! and do some laundry) then will head out across PA to visit where Tim is from then on to OH for his Submarine Vet Convention next weekend then stop and see MH and Andrea on our way home. I'll check in when can, which I should be able to do from now on. ~~LighthouseLady~~

Yup, MEN!!! He is packing up right now to head out in the morning..he gets to drive from here through NY then I'll take over once we get on RT #80 in PA. It is almost 9 hours to where we are going, so we will stop about 2 hours before we get there for the night. He is feeling good and today was to be his day of rest.....stay at the hotel and just hang out while I went to my sil's house and did laundry and hang out with her and my sister...nope he wanted to go over there too! He did get a nap when the 3 of us went out to the beach and left him with her 20 month old golden retrievers...2 of them! He said they all took a nap will the mail man came the they both got up and 'wolfed' at him, he said hi to them and the dogs laid back down. We wanted to take them all out to dinner, but my brother decided to go get live lobsters and cook them! YUMMY! It has just been so hot here...in the 90s the past few days and no a/c in the houses! It will be nice to ride in the a/c van tomorrow! ~~LighthouseLady~~

Lynda, I'm so glad that you checked in and everything is going so well on this trip. Congrats again on the 40th wedding anniversary and I think it's amazing that you have the topper and napkins from the wedding( I think you are one super organized lady).
