"The Emmys"

Lets dish! worst dressed, imo, of course, January Jones. It looked like watching The Jetsons on acid. The best dressed, Kyra Sedgwick. Funniest presenter, Ricky Gervais. Jimmy Fallon ruled. Great opening number. Most handsome, Jon Hamm. Most surprised to win, Edie Falcon. I kinda agree, she's not funny, she's good, but not funny.

I think you've got your Jimmys mixed up. Jimmy Fallon was the host.

I tuned in a half hour or so after it startd and missed Jimmy Kimmel, darn it. I liked the musical salutes to the shows that went off the air, 24, Law and Order and Lost. I had a difficult time hearing the guy who made comments while the winners were walking to the stage. There were nominated shows I've never heard of. Breaking Bad? And others whose names I can't remember this morning. YAY for Jane Lynch.

January Jones' outfit scared me a little. I'm sure the guys in the front row liked it, though.

Donna "Breaking Bad" is on AMC and it's brilliant. It's about a morally correct chemistry teacher who had lung cancer and uses his knowledge of chemicals to produce meth. He is doing this to provide $ for his family for when he is gone. One of his kids is disabled and his wife is pregnant. For good reason the show won for acting. He is in turmoil for what he is doing and is also placed in great danger while dealing drugs and lying to his family.

Its on during the night here so I am catching up on the red carpet just now.

First off I love Heidi Klum but this time she was not dressed classy IMO. She usually carries her dresses off to perfection.

I have no idea who most of these celebrities are since this is US TV but love watching red carpets. And I agree, January Jones' dress is extremely unflattering.

Didn't particularly like Kyra Sedgwick's dress but i think she and Kevin Bacon make a lovely couple.

I cannot decide if there is a dress I particularly prefer so I will go with the True Blood guys esp Kwantan (i forgot his name)

Totally agree==she has to be worst dressed. I also did not like Rita Wilson's( Tom Hanks wife) dress and shoes, and also Heidi Klum.

Loved the Kardashian girl's dress.

Missed half of the show and the part that I did see I didn't know any of the shows that were nominated. I am just out of the TV loop.

Only saw about 10 minutes of it. Fortunately, that included Ricky Gervais. So funny. Didn't see any of the fashions.

I love Kyra Sedgwick, so I'm glad she won..the Closer is an awesome show! I also loved her dress, though I thought her hair could have been a bit smoother...

Best dressed imo...Lea Michelle...gorgeous navy blue dress, adorned with the perfect necklace, and great hair..she totally rocked it!

Worst...Lauren Graham...what were you thinking...and Heidi Klum...OH, you of all people should know better!! Tacky dress for the occasion!

I missed the opening number, but will check out the link..I thought Jimmy Fallon was pretty good (loved his musical tribute to shows that are gone!) but overall I think there were more misses than hits...more jokes crossed the line to cheesy, rather than dry, funny humor. The presenter "banter" seemed worse than usual to me.

I agree Lea Michele looked gorgeous, but does anyone else think she overdoes it a little when posing for pictures on the red carpet? I noticed it at other awards shows, as well. I understand actresses are supposed to pose (e.g. look over their shoulder coyly, etc.), but it strikes me as odd when supposedly grounded actresses do that.

I agree with whoever said the presenter banter was not good this year.

Liked the tribute to TV celebs who have died since last year.

Also agree with whoever said it was hard to hear comments made by the guy off camera as people came up on stage.

I loved Claire Danes in her silver sparkling dress, even though I can't "like" her anymore because her husband left Mary Luise Parker when she was pregnant for her.

Liked: Christina Hendricks and Emily Blunt, in their pale colors, although I usualy root for bold colors

In that chategory, my winners are Julia Ormond, Kyra Sedgwick and Emily Deschanel

Ana Paquin with her body armor and January Jones with her paper-plates on her chest, that I didn't like.

Unfortunately I never like what Anna Paquin is wearing. This dress didn't work for me either. I thought Emily Blunt was cute too.
