"Extreme Home Makeover is in my town!"

   This is crazy! The cast and crew arrived last weekend and they proceeded to take down a small house and are now building a pretty large one on the same property. I haven't seen anybody but our town is crazy, traffic is terrible. DH and I walked down to the house and the crew and security people all seem so nice. You can actually get pretty close to watch. It's amazing how quickly they make things come together. I haven't seen Ty yet, DD and I plan on being on the lookout. It is pretty loud though. We're about 6 blocks away and we can hear a lot of machine noise, can't imagine what the people in the neighborhood are doing. Dee

   That's pretty cool. I used to watch this show pretty regularly. My favorite guy on the show is Ed, the British dude.

   Some years ago they were very close by in my neighborhood here in Queens. we didn't know until after the fact and we ended up knowing the people involved. When you look at the house from the outside it didn't look like anything much but when we saw the show and how the inside was done we were amazed.

What I want to know is do they work 24 hours a day? I just can't see them completing a job that fast without working 24 hours a day. (My house has physically been under construction for 9 months now and we still don't know when it will be done)

   when they were in my town is was crazy!
When they are done tapping they have a party. Alot of women in my area thought Ty was rude because he would not sign autographs and left early. I was thinking he has been building/tapping for a week now don't ya think he is exhasuted?

   When they were in our town, the only volunteering openings were like at 2 am to give coffee to the workers!

   DD,DS and I walked over to see what was happening this afternoon. They quite a lot of the outside done. It's a 3 story 4200ft. home. Quite a lot bigger then any other home in the area. Yes, they do (acording to a friend who lives two houses down from the location) work all night long. Everyone has been great but she's just about had enough. There are all kinds of rumors going on. The ones that I have numerous confirmation on are that there are dancers from Dancing with the Stars and that Lady Gaga has been part of the crew. Who knows? I kind of laughed off the Lady Gaga one but DD has had people that she works with who are involved with show tell her that she is in town. Such craziness...Dee

They were in my town a couple of years ago and it was nuts! My cousin worked on the crew to build the new house. It was for the family that were survivors of a terrible tornado that swept through our city. The mom was trying to get her kids into the basement. Got the kids down, but then the storm hit the house. The mom lay over the children while the door collapsed on top of her and broke her spine. She's paralyzed now, so they built the house with her wheelchair capabilities in mind. Awesome story, awesome show.
