"Pleasant Book Surprise"

Wanted to share this pleasant surprise with my fellow readers. I just sent this to Allison Brennan's Facebook wall, but I thought you guys would want to know it too.

Last weekend we had our big snowstorm in TN. Nothing like the folks up north in D.C. and the Mid-Atlantic states are experiencing right now, but four inches in the South is a big deal. We don't own snow plows. Anyway, most people stock up on bread and milk at the grocery store--I bought books. I picked up a copy of Allison Brennan's new book ORIGINAL SIN on impulse because I'd read some of her romantic suspense titles before and liked them. She sent me an autographed copy of KILLING FEAR a while back because Katydid entered my name in her contest. Anyway, I did not read the back cover copy first.

When I got home I was disappointed to find out that it was a supernatural thriller with priests, witches, demons, and the like. That's not my normal genre, but I started reading anyway because I was snowed in. Boy am I glad I did!

I just finished the book tonight (would've finished it sooner, but I had a very busy week!) and it was wonderful. I can't wait for the next title, which I think will be CARNAL SIN. Very good story and world-building going on there.

It's so much fun when you step out of your reading comfort zone and find something you like so much.
