Let's see if we can keep a thread running for a whole year! You can post anything, almost like in non-seq, you can just 'bump' it, but the main object is to keep the thread live, and to stop it going into the archive, for as long as possible! Who is up for the challenge with me?!!!
Think of it as a chance to redeem yourself from those Queen of Threadkiller titles!

Oh my goodness....Books were an evil temptation for me this week... I bought 8 books for my Kindle today... But at least I won't be bored at work next week!

Kinda nice to not feature on a thread killer golden thread award. Now there is an incentive!
I am off to watch 3hrs of cricket in Wellington today, looking forward to it, and hope my team wins. They are wearing pink, that's their colour this year for Breast Cancer Awareness fundraising. I never wear pink, but got a pink top to wear just for today! Weather not looking promising, hope they play anyway, its fast cricket and exciting usually.

What a gloriously sunny day today! Pity I slept the morning away and then worked this afternoon. But still, it's pretty to hear birds singing, have a nice breeze and the sun shining.

Read some more of Natural Born Charmer last night, getting close to the end.It is wonderful!!! Then one more Chicago Stars book and I can read some more of SEP"s books. I gave myself 2 New Years resolutions, to read something good every day and to knit at least for a short while every day..Anybody else a knitter? Marcia in Colorado

Oh i just started knitting, still kinda getting the hang of it, but soon enough i hope to get something that looks uniformly made with a nice end (of the rows). My ends always come out funny, one person told me it was because i was knitting the last loop, but i think i am.

I was looking forward to seeing Dear John until I realized it is one of the Nicholas Sparks books I have already read...I freaking hated the ending!! UGH! Now I don't want to see the movie.

Two day weekend, one day at work, next day off for public holiday, then back for three days work, followed by another two day weekend. I could get used to this.

Just replying to a post sends it to the top of the discussion board( if it's at the bottom of the page or on a next page even).
In reply to other comments on this thread---I feel I'm a book addict and I think their should be a support group. I know I haven't been to the bookstore in a while and I'm getting that antsy feeling that I need to go because I know there are great NEW books out and I'm missing them. Then I remember the bag of books that I have out from the library and stayed home(lol). I recently owed the library $10.75 in fines for overdue books. I just kept reading other books( one's that I bought) and didn't remember the due dates. My only regret about the fines is that I could have spent that money on a book.

Does anyone watch tennis? The Australian Open has been on for the past week and a half and because of the time difference; I have not been to sleep at a decent hour since! Other than reading, sports is an obsession of mine and tennis is one of my favorites! I'm currently watching Andy Roddick try to fight back from a 2 sets to 1 deficit against Marin Cilic. He's leading 5-0 in the fourth set. GO ANDY!!! I could watch the replay tomorrow afternoon, but I like it live. The Americans left are Andy in men's singles, the Williams sisters in women's singles and doubles and the Bryan brothers in the men's doubles.

In Australia, during mid- to late-January, the only things to watch on tv are the Australian Open Tennis on Network 7 and International Cricket on Network 9 and repeats of popular shows on Network 10. When the sports aren't being shown on the 7 & 9, they too have repeats of shows. It's no wonder Aussies spend so much time outdoors there's nothing on the telly for over a month, at least. (Thank goodness all shows premiere new seasons as of this coming Sunday!)
I finaly watched some of the tennis last night, watching our Leyton Hewitt be ousted in stgraight sets. Oh well. The other guys are cuter, so it's not too bad.

That's the best thing about this, there's nothing much to do! Just a post every other day, or once a day will keep the thread active. That should make it around the 300 post size by the end of the year? Easy!

It was during Aaron's superhero costume phase. When he was 4 or 5 he wore a costume EVERYWHERE he went, including the grocery store. He also spoke to random strangers everywhere we went. (Shy like his mother, right?)
So anyway, he leaned out of the shopping cart (buggy? whatever other people call them) and told this fairly hot young guy, "I'm Superman! Do you like my costume?" The guy smiled at him and said, "Sure do, man." Then he smiled an even bigger smile at me and said, "I bet your mom would look great in a Wonder Woman costume."

MaryEllen,
I'm so jealous. Not about the money spent but that you were able to go to a bookstore. I haven't been able to get to the mall where my closest Borders is or Walmart where I sometimes luck out with books. I'm working everyday and my next day off will be on Sunday and I'm determined to make it to a bookstore. Robyn Carr's 2nd book for this year is due out and I'm sure I'm missing others.
My other jealously is that you have a good used bookstore. there isn't a good one that is near to me.

Next Tuesday I'll finally be close to a Borders and the last Robyn Carr book had a $1.00 off coupon on her next book. Yeah! And, I'm really lucky to have a great used book store here because we don't have a new Book Store within 50 miles. Steph in Oregon

With two AC/DC concerts in town this week, the city is over run with bogans! It's like being in an episode of "Outrageous Fortune" . I've never seen so many mullets, tattos and black t-shirts. I fear the city hasn't got enough Jim Beam and coke to cope with the in flux LOL.

I still don't have any interest in audio books. I LOVE holding a book, smelling it and being able to reread a page over again, etc. Plus my attention span wouldn't allow me to pay close attention to the spoken words. As it is, sometimes I have to reread paragraphs a few times because I've gotten distracted. Oh well...to each her own.

LOL!! The very first concert I ever went to was AC/DC back in 1987 when I was 14! My best friend at the time had a family friend that owned the auditorium where they played so we got free tickets to any event that wasn't sold out on the day of the show. So our tickets were free, but in the nose bleed section and I think we got a contact high from all of the smoke. It was a lot of fun but looking back I can't help but wonder what were my parents thinking?!

I was going to take a break from here for a while, but after two events in two days where something really good happened, where the opposite could have just as easily been the likely outcome, I had to log in to share with everyone. Good things still do happen, never stop believing that.
