Tori my indecision is killing me. I'm off one more day and am home doing laundry from our trip while I listen to Lady Be Good. I could easily sneak out to the bookstore as soon as they open here in California.

I just don't know if I want to know. So what am I doing on this thread...

I went out today and thought that by the time I got home, many people would have already posted about the excerpt. My copy of the book probably won't arrive until later this week. I keep checking this thread over and over again.

Ok, I read it through quickly before the gym and here is my take.

It is Ted and Lucy's wedding rehersal. Meg hasn't met him yet and she thinks Lucy is making a mistake. Everythime they were supposed to meet something came up. The 2 girls went to college together. That is how Meg and Lucy are friends. Meg is a bridesmaid. When she finally sees him it is like a punch to the stomach because he is so HOT!

I think Teddy ends up with Meg because they are so opposite and opposites attract right?. I think Lucy will go with the biker guy who is briefly mentioned who is part of Teds groomsmen. This is just my take.

SEP, I loved it and I still think the pairing could go either way. You have me dying of curiosity.

   I READ IT.

Oh my gosh it was great. I am drooling for the remainder of the story. I think I am super happy about the heroine but I'm a little unsure at this point. I read it before I even left the book store because I was not going to try to read at stop lights like I did last time. I even put up with a snoring man in a chair only feet away. SEP I love you and at the same time I hate you for the tease. I must know more. When is Ted's story coming out?

I don't think so. I had joked about the bait and switch before but now I think it is a possibility. Right now he is about to marry Lucy so I was all excited at first. But all of the descriptions of his attractivness come from Meg's view point like she is the one truely attracted to him. I am not sure.

I'm rooting for Lucy too. Who knows maybe the biker friend of Teds ends up being someone great for Meg and While Meg teaches Lucy to have fun again she will learn her place where her free spirit and responsible life meet.

I know that whoever Teddy and Lucy end up with (even if it's not with one another...sob), I'll be happy with their stories. It's just that I had it in my head for so long that Teddy and Lucy would be together, so if that's not the case, I just need some time to come to terms with that. Geesh, it's like they're real people to me. I just want Lucy to end up with an awesome guy, and Teddy's hard to top in the awesome guy department.

Wait until you read the chapter. I think we gave SEP some ideas about how everyone thinks Ted is such a perfect golden boy. He is so perfect it hurts. You'll love that aspect of it!

   >Can anyone definitively confirm who the heroine is?

No not really, but it's looking like Meg. I know everyone keeps saying that want Ted and Lucy, but I'm liking the thought of Ted and Meg a lot.
The first chapter was SO good! I didn't want to buy the paperback since I have TWO copies of the hardback, so I kept skulking between less busy aisles at Target tonight so I could read it. My girls were like Um Mommy what are you doing? And I was like hush I'm reading about Ted. LOL!

I haven't read What I Did for Love yet, so maybe if I read it, I'll be more open to the idea of Meg as Teddy's love interest. I just loved Lucy in First Lady. Okay, I need to calm down.

I personally like our Meggie. She is spunky and free spirited and I think she is just the shake up our Teddy needs to knock him off of his pedestal. Or at least take some of that shine off of his halo.

So now I'm wondering about who Lucy will end up with. You know he's going to absolutely yummy! I get the feeling that Lucy has grown up into someone a tad bit like Susannah Faulconer from Hot Shot. So her story is going to be really good too!

What do you mean obvious. Lucy is getting ready to married to him but Meg finds him "pinch me he's dreamy" gorgeous. Meg's viewpoint seemed to be the prominent one but Lucy is the one with the wedding plans. 'splain this to me.

I admit that since I already own WIDFL, I sat in Borders and read the first chapter of Ted's book.

I could never picture Ted with Lucy, so I'm really excited (and impatient) to read the rest of Ted & Meg's story...hmmm...will Meg's doubts about Lucy & Ted being right for each other convince Lucy to leave Ted waiting at the alter??? Will she run off with the biker before the rehearsal is even over??? I love the hint from Meg that Lucy needs to return to her true self.

Oh please, please, please tell me you have a release date for Ted's book! I can't wait to see what happens! (Hints about Lucy's book would be welcome, too!)

It is totally obvious...it's all written from Meg's point of view. I can't think of a book in which SEP deviates in POV from either 1) primary m/f protagonists; 2) secondary m/f protagonists; or 3) a child. PLUS there is the big clue that Ted does not look at Lucy with passion..

Enough of this - I need to go study the chapter some more to figure out all of the clues...

SEP you've done it again!!! I knew I shouldn't give into temptation and read the 1st chapter of Ted's book but did I listen to reason....no I didn't listen and now I am climbing the walls waiting for this book to be released. Not to mention more confused than before about who the heroine is going to be.

As I started reading, I was a little disappointed that Lucy was Ted's heroine, I was really hoping it would be Meg. Now after reading the first chapter, I'm still not sure who the heroine is going to be.

I have to hand it to you SEP, you are the best of the best when it comes to teasers!!! I love the book so far but please, please, please put us out of our misery and tell us who the heroine is.....please with a cherry on top, I'm begging on my hands and knees....

Looks like Meg is the heroine :(:(:
Its so obvious. I am so disappointed.
But if this is wedding rehearsal then its just one day before the wedding right? how can it break? Does Ted realise on the wedding day that Lucy is not right for him??? So horrible. I feel so sorry for Lucy.
I am already hating Meg. it maybe irrational but i still dont like her. I am very very sorry for my outburst. but I was still hoping for ted and lucy and this has crashed it
if Ted had fallen for Meg at first it was ok.. but almost marrying lucy and cheating her at the last moment?????? as if its right to jilt someone on the wedding day??? i dont care that she was not right for him and all that... why decide to marry then??
I am not sure I can come to terms with this (:(:(:(:(:(:(:(

My thought is that if SEP thinks the heroine is obvious from the exerpt then it must be Meg.

Maybe I am over thinking, but I could see Lucy fighting for him. On the other hand, I also would like to see Lucy break out of her Best Girl in the World persona that Meg thinks she has adopted since Neally and Matt got together. The biker guy has potential- and that could be the second book. Ted needs some shaking up too.

I have total faith in SEP to tell us a good couple of stories. No way will the Seppies feel betrayed like some of the Brockmann people seem to have been with the Decker-Tracy (?- how soon we forget.) situation.

Can't wait for Francesca to go ballistic. Loved the reaction of the townspeople to Teddy's bride. Shades of Bobby Tom's football quiz. Was Birdie someone I should remember from LBG?

And I'd like to say again that Eva Cassidy's "I Know You By Heart" would be a good name for this book, given Meg's response to Ted. Just a thought.

Didnt understand the above??? no one knows who Ted is going to marry???? not even Francesca???? How come??? Can you please write how was the reaction of townspeople? is it because she is president's daughter??

How is Lucy portrayed?? too much attitude or something??

I would think that with the childhood that Lucy had (up until she was adopted by Mat and Nealy) that she wouldn't necessarily be all goody goody as a grown up and would still have potential to be a fascinating love interest for Teddy. Sigh.

Maybe we are looking at this wrong. Maybe Meg kidnaps Lucy and teaches her to have fun and break out of her perfect shell before the wedding. Maybe meg being knocked stupid by Teds amber eyes etc. was just that stupid thing we women do and we read to much into that part. Lucy was never a pushover. She named her sister Butt if you'll remember. Do you think she would just let her best friend waltz off with her fiance?

sumbee, I like the way you think. I never thought of Lucy as a pushover either. She had so much attitude as a teen, and I don't see why that attitude wouldn't carry over into adulthood, just because she was adopted by loving parents.

I never found teddy boring too.. as in not having fun, too serious, needs a woman like Meg to etach him to have fun in life... i dont know why they 2 are considered too perfect or boring for each other... its as if the characters i read in their respective books and the general opinion is totally opposite

BORING??????? i thought Lucy was sooo spunky in first lady... just because she is president's daughter she is totally perfect?? i dont know abt teddy, but i never thought lucy is too boring for teddy. more than nealy, mat i like reading about Lucy in first lady.

I am sure Lucy's behavior changed as the daughter of the pres. First families always have to behave. That was part of Nealy's issue. Plus her appreciation for becoming part of the family made her eager to please. I am hoping this story is her finding herself again. Ted needs some spice in his eco friendly, oober smart, non cooking life. I am still hoping Lucy will be that spice. I have to admit she was a bit of a mat in this first chapter. Not at all the woman I expected her to be. I expected her to be more confident. Was this just premarital jitters or did she really grow up to be a doormat?

I guess I look at it as if the pressure of being in the public eye and wanting to make Matt and Nealy proud, Lucy has restrained her wilder self. And getting so close to marrying a man that even she feels is too good for her is the last straw and she has to break out of the persona she's created and be the true self that has been suppressed inside her. (Just my perceptioms, here. This is in no way implied in the first chapter.)

I don't think Ted will jilt her or that Meg steals him away from her, rather I hope that it's Lucy that does the jilting. I got the feeling from the first chapter that while Lucy may be someone that Ted has affection for, she's doesn't touch his heart to the depth where he would be devastated if their relationship didn't work out. (Again, just my perception.)

Both Ted and Lucy deserve that type of love, but I think they're going to find out that they need to look elsewhere for it. Ted with Meg and Lucy with ??? Lucy deserves more than affection!

I'm just going with the flow now. I don't want to get too sad about Lucy not being with Teddy, so I'm thinking ahead to her happily ever after, possibly with Biker Dude or some other bad boy. I hope Lucy's story is the next project that SEP works on. Maybe one day I'll be able to think, "I'm so glad Lucy didn't end up with Teddy because (insert bad boy's name here) is so much more perfectly-suited for her."

You're right. I've never been disappointed by any of SEP's books that I've read, so I know Teddy's story will be a good one. I just wish Lucy had never been referred to as the only girl good enough for Teddy because after having read that, I just had it in my head that they'd end up together. I'm getting all worked up, and I haven't even read the excerpt.

Even i wish we were never told, lucy is the only one good enough for ted. makes me feel as if now we should think Meg is BETTER than Lucy which i never felt just going by what we saw of her WID4L.
Even before SEP announced Meg being in ted's book, i never thought she was a heroine material when reading WID4L. she just didnt make an impression on me.

i am soo disappointed to read lucy seemed like a mat in the first chapter. i hope her character is not changed to make meg more interesting. i am feeling so sad for lucy, like she got a step mother treatment.
I am totally over reacting i know

You know, when Meg was first mentioned, that was my intial thought. Meg was in, Lucy was out. Other than Lucy remembering her earlier beginners Goth days, Meg, is this Hollywood, Free spirit, who Ted, would find a total flake and fall absolutely in love with. It would not matter that Lucy is tiny like his Mom,and should remind him of all the runaways Francie collected (only he never got to see that side of Lucy).

spikesgurl, your post just made me sad again. I'm feeling a roller coaster of emotions. Darn those Hollywood free spirits. Good thing I'm currently rereading This Heart of Mine, which brings a smile to my face.

After reading the excerpt I was 100% sure that the heroine was Meg but what you said made me go nuts all over again. I could totally picture what you said about Meg and Lucy escaping for a while and Lucy finding the rebel in her. That is the only why I can see her with Ted though. As of now she is too perfect and Ted, oh well not only is he also too perfect but he seems passionless, which calls for a strong spirited girl to break him. That is why I though Meg would be the perfect heroine, because she is crazy and funny and would make Ted go ballistic. But on the other hand it could work out with Lucy if she goes back to being the hardheaded girl we once new and loved to read about in First Lady.

Good point though, now thanks to you, I'm confused again.... =]

Meg and Ted as a pair sounds like a nice possibilty.
To be honest I was not so excited about Ted's book in the beginning but the spoilers totally changed that. Now I can't wait to read the book and I'm absolutly rooting for Meg.
Thanks SEP for writing another great book and I'm sure that I will love it.

And I can understand that people get all excited about Lucy but some of the posts are a bit over the top (IMO).

I know there seems to be a lot of controversy on who Ted's Heroine should be but I know that whoever that woman is we will all be rooting for her in the end whether you are a Meg supporter or Lucy supporter. So I am keeping an open mind and am eager to get caught up in the story of Ted and his lady love.

I would just like to take this opportunity to remind everyone that we're talking about FICTIONAL CHARACTERS here, not real people. And that we're talking about them on the bulletin board owned by the creator of said fictional characters. Show some respect. Everybody take a major chill pill with a giant chaser of Relax and calm the frick down. And I say that with the utmost goodheartedness.

Whether you're on Team Lucy or Team Meg, Miz Susan is going to write another fabulous book that will have us all weeping, laughing, and gnashing our teeth when we FINALLY get to read it. Remember that Sugar Beth started out as a very unloveable heroine when she was a teen, but turned into one of my favorite heroines in romance novel history.

SEP is probably sitting at home in her Bootylicious nightgown and those slippers with the yogurt stain on the toe, laughing her butt off over this "debate."

I know they are fictional, you know they are fictional but they become real to us thanks to SEPs style of writing. I would love to know SEPs opinion of this debate and this is becoming bigger than the twilight jacob vs. edward (i think i got those name right) This would be easier if we knew the other male lead. Frankly, biker guy has potential. I'd have to see his tatoos though to be sure. You can't be a hot biker without at least one hot tattoo......hmmmmm. Now I am curious.

I agree with Teble. SEP won't disappoint us. As for my reaction to the excerpt ... (sorry in advance for my long post. I have so much to say!)

..

..

..

..

..

..

..

..

..

..

I think that Ted and Meg make really good sense. The whole opening segment actually had me tricked for a moment when it discussed the upcoming nuptials between Ted and Lucy. I was thinking, "Wow, this is different. We don't even get to read about the hero/heroine getting to know each other?" But then when I saw the section in Meg's viewpoint, it all become clear to me. Very clever, SEP.

I really like Meg. She has a very frank opinion about the whole charade that is Ted and Lucy's wedding, and her perspective is very relatable. Lucy is letting herself get blinded by Ted's godlike status in that town, and Ted is definitely up to something. Yes. Perfect as he may be, he is up to something, and I dare think that he needs to be called out on it by the aimless Meg Koranda. No one is really that perfect. I think that's the whole point. I think that Meg has the potential to bring back glimpses of that insecure little boy who threw temper tantrums in "Fancy Pants," and I will eat up every moment of that. In addition, Meg clearly needs some stability in her life. If her super-driven and successful parents couldn't do the trick, then maybe Teddy's the only person left who can help her find a niche in life.

I'm so excited to see how the story unfolds. The wedding probably won't happen, and Meg might end up at fault. Maybe she'll talk Lucy out of it? If I were Lucy, I would be sprinting out of Wynette fast enough to make heads spin. The people in that town are a little ... much. And remember when SEP hinted that Francie wasn't happy in the story? Who would make her unhappier than Meg, who wouldn't be a doormat for anyone, let alone her golden boy son?

I love Ted and Lucy as individuals. Together? I think I understand what SEP meant about them being too perfect. Someone is going to bring the spunk back into the Lucy we all know and love, but I don't think he will be Ted ... I guess we'll see ...

BTW, SEP, I laughed out loud in Barnes & Noble when I read the part where Ted walks into the church and trumpets started to blare. That was hilarious!

IT'S MEG!!!!! That will become blindingly clear in the next chapter. The key is what has happened to Lucy.(All the clues are in the first chapter.) Mat and Nealy never made her feel as though she had to live up to being adopted by them, but Lucy feels it, something that only gets magnified with Nealy in the White House. The only way Lucy can repay them for everything they've done for her is to be as perfect as she can possibly be. And part of that is marrying the perfect man. Except, as Meg sees right away, Ted has become one more person Lucy feels as though she needs to live up to. Our darling Lucy has been slowly losing touch with the wild child she was at fourteen, and marrying Ted is NOT going to bring that wildness, that absolute bravery back to her. They're so POLITE to each other. As for Ted... OMG! That's all I'm saying about him for now...except that Lucy and Ted were a terrible match from the very beginning. It's why I could never write their book. I love them both too much to have them "settle" for each other.

Hmmm, will we possibly see Lucy with the "biker guy" that is part of Ted's wedding party?

I loved Meg's reaction to Ted when she saw him. Also, when he was standing with the sun shining around him spotlighting him and Lucy said that Ted said stuff like that was a coincidence.

I think Meg will give Ted a run for his money. She will definately bring chaos to his world. This will be so fun to read.

SEP, I am thrilled to have read the first chapter but it will be torture waiting for the book to come out.

It's all good SEP. I was only rooting for Lucy because she is my all time fav. character. I have to admit I liked Ted but was never in love the way other SEPPIES were. So I am even more excited for the next book. Lucy's story. I know how Lucy feels always trying to do what is right and be perfect until you just want to scream obsinities in a church to prove you are not perfect. I know the story will be great! I just don't want Lucy to be hurt ever.

I haven't read chapter one yet, but as I was scrolling down, reading the spoilers (because I'll still read the book and I have no problem with knowing something beforehand), I figured that it would be Meg because you put Ted and Lucy at their wedding rehearsal...something I don't feel you would start off with if it was to be Ted and Lucy. That feeling is from listening to you talk about your other books.

This senario kinda sounds like the old Brooks and Dunn song about a wedding...the girl's name is Connie..."you can't take the honkey-tonk out of the girl..."

And, it kinda reminds me of Hot Shot just a wee bit, too with the Biker Dude part.

Can't wait to see how everything fits together. I agree with Teble when she says that you haven't disappointed us in the past and I know you won't in the future.

On another note, I am going to do a complete reread of all of these books prior to the new book. Otherwise I will probably be sooooo confused!

I avoided this thread until today because I didn't want to spoil my first reading of the chapter. Yes, I admit it, yesterday I stood in Borders and read it because I already own WIDFL. I can't wait to read the entire story and discover how the relationships develop.

I do have two questions 1) now that Tiger has fallen from grace, will that first chapter be edited? 2)when is the publication date?

Did I mention I am very eager to read the book?

SEP, thanks for confirming who Teddy's heroine is. Now I can start getting used to the idea that Teddy and Lucy won't be together. Sigh. I know these are fictional characters, but as someone else pointed out, we get invested in them because of the realistic way they're written, and we come to care deeply about them.

Susan, I have a question. Will Lucy get her actual own book, or will we just read about her romance as a secondary character in Teddy's story? I hope it's the former.

Okay, I haven't read the excert yet, just this post, which was great fun in & of itself. So up until SEP posted the heroine is definetly Meg, I was thinking "the queen of the teasers" (that's you SEP) was teasing us AGAIN. I had it figured that SEP wrote the 1st chapter from Meg's pov as the friend observing the hero/heroine & that she would somehow step up in the story to help Ted & Lucy find the magic & she'd end up with the biker. Because SEP has told us for YEARS that Ted & Lucy would get together, she just didn't want to write their story! (Not that I'm disappointed. Just saying.)

xoxo's, Liz

I read it today and although I was going for Lucy I am more than sure that the heroine in this one is going to be Meg, unless there is some unexpected twist going on. The chapter started with Meg's perspective, and the fact that she noticed that there is no passion in the way Ted and Lucy look at each other. She also noticed that he was very calm, and Lucy point out that not only is he perfect but he does not get angry. Lucy and Ted are too perfect for each other and although I agree that she is a rebel inside, I do believe that Meg's character and way of being spontaneous is what can bring out the passion and anger in Ted. I really love both girls and I thought Lucy was perfect on First Lady but my heart always went to Meg, she is crazy which is the perfect opposite for Ted's control..

But like I said, judging by what I read, Meg is the girl that is going to make Ted's perfect world upside down!!!

I've just got three words for those of you bummed about Ted ending up up Meg: Francie. Meg. Showdown. I can hardly wait!!

Life's not a box of chocolates. It's more like a box of matches and sometimes the whole darn thing goes up in flames. At that point you've got two choices: you can either stand there and watch it burn or you can get your friends together and have one heck of a weenie roast!

SO IT IS MEG! I KNEW ALL ALONG. HAHAHA

I discovered it in early November! Okay, I'm going to be blabbering, and call me obsess about "Ted's Book," because I was and still am... but I was playing around, changing the exposure of the photo SEP posted on FB to tease us about her weekend of working on Ted's book. At the time, I thought maybe, just maybe I can get something off of it to feed my curiosity. Man oh man, was I BORED! But I am glad, because it kept me from questioning myself whether it's Meg or Lucy especially since there's been hot debates going on as well. Well, I was indifferent about the girls; which ever one Ted ends with, I'd still be happy... just because SEP produces marvelous books. But since I wasn't sure if it would be right to spoil who Ted's lady love is, I've kept it to myself (which was so hard, because I desperately wanted to talk with someone) the whole time.

In the red rectangle I circled, it says something along the line, "Meg looked away" and it's in chapter fifteen, I believe?

Can't wait to read the first chapter. Gawsh, someone needs to take me to the Barnes & Noble asap!! Sucks that I can't drive, yet.

OMG I KNEW IT!!!!!! I can't wait for Ted and Meg's story!!! When I heard about the possibility of Meg being the heroine and not Lucy I went crazy, in an overjoyed way of course, because I had not read First Lady at the time (I did a couple of weeks ago and I LOVED IT!!!) but even then my heart always went to Meg. I loved how she is an openly rebellious girl which is, in my opinion, what Ted really needs to come out of that perfect little world he lives in!!! I am also excited to see Francesca's reaction to Meg, THAT WILL EXPLOSIVE!!!!

p.s. I also loved to hear that Lucy will have her own book!!! I think she will be a great heroine!! OMG I CANNOT WAIT FOR EITHER OF THESE BOOKS!!!!

I rather love and hate Meg...can't stand the spoiled rich girl cut off from inheritance thing but I bet she has a deeper story and I'd love to hear more about those crazy travels of hers. Mostly, I hope she stirs up crazy trouble for Ted...should be fun! Ted sort of reminds me of a guy that everybody thought "walked on water," only to discover (too late) that his magnetic personality, charm, and angelic actions were a cover for public view; not that Ted could be hiding dark secrets. As for Lucy, she may be in for the ride of her life if Meg succeeds in shaking things up.

For Lucy and Ted to marry would be boring and probably filled with heartache...this could be like Fancy Pants - not the marriage part, of course, but the emotional story that unravels as the characters grow.

In many of SEP's books, the heroine needs to prove herself in some way and/or become financially independent to be with the hero (so that she's not dependent on him). See DALD and NBC, among others, not to mention Ain't.

So, Meg is broke, broke, broke. She's also completely aimless.

What well Meg do to prove herself? How will she keep herself from becoming financially dependent on Teddy (if/when she gets together with him)? Discuss amongst yourselves.

Hey, I also have a copy of some crazy fragments, too, from that same day I was playing with the photo.

This was what I got off from it:

CHAPTER FIFTEEN

..... He's ....

Ted — And watched? every movement?. His eyes flickered to Meg, but? ... Meg looked away.
She carried? ___ another? ... the way they
... even a Ice Tool. (?)
"You can't serve? that!” Chel? exclaimed. "It's all ready, tell me (?)."
If only he knew...
"It's for Ted," she said. "He won't notice."
She set the dessert in front of him and looked back at the kitchen for coffee
... doubt? my? anything. She started to pace? as far away from him as she
... The woman Zoey had identified as Duncan Orovy’s mother.
"Those?, isn’t that you — __."
"What? No. It just looks like it."

... for? the table farthest away.
... didn't give him a chance to say anything to her as she set the dessert. He...

Okay, basing on what I got... it seems like Meg did something suspicious. Humm..... particularly when she said "It's for Ted... he won't notice." LOL! I can't wait to read this book. SIGHHH, another whole year. *sniff**

I finally got time to post after reading it the spoiler.

*My first thought after reading Ted's description is, I'm calling this book 'perfecTED' or maybe sainTED... Waiting for real title.

*Second thought - What other strange things happen when Ted is around - apart from trumpets sounding his entrance? I burst out loud laughing at that one.

*Thirdly, how is SEP going to deal with the etiquette of Ted dating his ex-fiance's best friend? Personally, it would take some strong feelings for me to do that to a friend, no matter how great he is. It breaks the code.

*Finally, the wait is AGONY.

I was absolutely devastated when I finished reading the first chapter of Ted's book. The idea of Ted and Lucy was just so ingrained into my head that anything else would just break my heart. Admittedly Meg is probably a better match for Teddy, but I'm still going to have a hard time adjusting. And a love triangle involving two best friends is just asking for trouble and I'm nervous to find out how they solve that 'little' problem. I feel much better knowing that Lucy will get her own book and that there's someone out there for her.

It's absolute torture waiting for this book to come out. I can't possibly wait till 2011. And even longer for Lucy's book.

And I have every finger crossed that Rosie and Chip will end up together.

Thank God, no love triangles. I would really hate for the good friendship of Meg and Lucy to be ruined because of Ted-not that he isn't worth it, but then it won't be good if he ruined this friendship. Whew, I was kind of worried about that. Can't wait until 2011!

Oh thank god! I always find them so unnecessary. As if relationships aren't complicated enough as is.

I'd also like to add that, like everyone else here, I LOVED the trumpet bit. Thank god I wasn't in public when I read it.

Is there an approx release date? I need to start a countdown calendar and space out my re-reading of all your older novels.

Okay, am I the only one that noticed the teensy weensy little typo in Chapter 1? It is on the page where Meg is talking to Birdie. The beginning of a sentence in the middle of this scene says "Lucy" but it should be "Meg" since Lucy isn't anywhere near them at this point.

Quote:
Meg worked at keeping her composure. "I'm sure she appreciates him just as much as he does her. Lucy is a very special person."
Birdie jumped at the opportunity to take offense. "Not as special as Ted, but then you'd have to live around here to understand."
Lucy wasn't getting into a spitting contest with this woman, no matter how much she wanted to, so she kept her smile firmly in place. "I live in L.A. I understand a lot."

And after reading the chapter....How could anyone question that Meg was The Chosen One? It seemed so obvious to me from the start of the chapter. Maybe it was obvious to me since I never thought that Ted should be with Lucy. Meg is the one who would drive him absolutely nutty!

I finally got my own copy of WIDFL. Since I already read the book, I just skipped to read the sneak peek of "Ted's Book." Can't wait til 2011!! I'm loving it so far. LOL

BTW, there was a spelling typo with Nealy's last name on the last page, unless it was meant to be that way... I don't know.

"Are you really suggesting that Lucy shouldn't marry Ted?" Nealy Chase said in the voice she'd reserved for the opposition party.

well I finally read the 1st chapter. you could tell that about 3 of the 6 copies at borders had been thumbed through the last part of the book! ladies, ladies!
I'm passing my copy on to a friend to spread the cheer. I've inspired several new seppies this way. I just tell them to keep passing my paperbacks around for inspiration. wish I had kept track some way to see how many people get sucked in to the trap that way.

anyway:

I love who ted has become! wynette's attitude toward him is a hoot! ted and meg could be the best match up yet! trumpets indeed! I laughed out loud and I cried. because I may not live long enough for the book to be released. at my age you never know.(pity, sympathy, violins etc). I have decided to get a job with the naperville trash collectors so that I may be able to salvage some discarded manuscript pages. or does she burn them? or maybe she gets it right the first time with no revisions, like mozart. bummer.
maybe I'll just bribe her. or li'l sis. I'll bet li's sis is bribable. I could maybe secure a personal item of daniel craig's to interest her.....

I haven't read the excerpt yet (because the paperback copy is not yet available here in the Philippines) but it sounds like an interesting change happened. I admit I became used to the idea that the next book will be for Ted and Lucy. But then again, I like Meg too. And just give me a minute to recover from my shock and I'll reconcile the idea that the next book will be for Ted and Meg already.

I admit, I don't care. I love Ted and I love Lucy and Meg, too. I may not be jumping for joy because of the idea that Ted will end up marrying his ex-fiancee's bestfriend but I'm sure SEP will not disappoint us. (When did she ever?)

I'm sure this is going to be a good book. I can't wait until it hits the shelves on 2011. I hope it's January?
