Patricia, I read both of those this year as well. Good books, but I definitely went searching for happier fare afterwards. I did pass both onto my mom though who does actually like that sort of thing.
I'm reading the Rough Riders series by Lorelei James. The series is erotica but there's a decent story to each of the books which is a nice balance. I've gone through the entire series in the last week or so and have only the current and next book left. Haven't read about a cowboy in quite some time and missed them!
