5. "Enoch, Ferguson, Gavalda,"

I'm trying to read three books at once, which isn't my usual style. I've savoring S Enoch's "Stolen Kisses" that Luci was so sweet to send to me. Since there won't be another SE book for a while, I read just so much a night to make it last. It's a treasure. Thanks, Luce. I'm also halfway through Craig Ferguson's autobiography "American on Purpose" --in the part during his "deep end" alcholic period. He's one terrific writer, honest and not at all self-serving. Finally, I started "Ensemble, C'est Tout," suggested by Linou. When I'm thinking in English and translating French words it goes so much more slowly than when I can slip into reading en francais. I'm taking my time though because there are so many common words in french and english that look the same but have different shades of meaning or mean something else altogther because of idiomatic expressions. It's fun and I'm loving the book, even though this 500-page book will take me quite a while to read, no doubt. |
